Description


This exceptional Danish Georg Jensen silver bowl has a circular tapering flared form onto a knopped pedestal and circular foot.


The surface of this fine example of vintage silverware is plain and embellished with fluted decoration to the lower portion.


The impressive vessel is supported by an impressive applied, knopped Arts and Crafts style pedestal accented with fluted decoration to a plain circular foot.


The hallmarks struck to the underside of this two-handled bowl include:

Maker's mark: Georg Jensen (this mark was used between 1945-present)

Country mark: Denmark

Silver quality/purity mark: Sterling (925/1000)

Designer's mark: GA (Gundorph Albertus (1887-1970))

Registration number: 259


Condition


This vintage Georg Jensen silver bowl is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

There are some natural fire marks to the surface of the bowl, in keeping with age.

The Danish hallmarks struck to the underside of the foot are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of vintage silverware.
