Description


This exceptional, fine and impressive antique reverse intaglio dog brooch has been crafted in 9 ct yellow gold.


The brooch has been crafted in the form of a horseshoe, ornamented with an essex crystal reverse intaglio to the centre.


The reverse intaglio depicts a 'Jack Russel Terrier' dog wearing a collar, and is backed with mother of pearl.


The horseshoe frame is embellished with seven collet set Dutch cut diamonds, with an approximate carat weight of 0.10 ct.


The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clip.


This impressive Victorian dog brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 9 ct gold.

This exceptional original antique brooch is fine quality set with an impressive hand painted reverse intaglio and old cut diamonds.

The brooch is a very good gauge of gold and is in excellent condition.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of Victorian jewellery/estate jewelry.
