This impressive antique brooch has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold with a silver setting.

The brooch has been modelled in the form of a butterfly.

The pierced decorated forewings are each embellished with three sapphire cabochons, yellow gold set to the outer margins.

The shaped yellow gold sub margins of the hindwings are both ornamented with a sapphire cabochon.

The wings have a pierced decorated form embellished with a total of twenty-four, silver set Dutch cut diamonds of various sizes.

The butterfly's thorax is accented with a collet set sapphire cabochon and two Old European round cut diamonds represent the eyes.

The shaped basals of the forewings and the butterfly's abdomen are accented with a total of five ruby cabochons.

The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and safety clip.

The brooch has been hallmarked to the pin however this is worn and illegible and therefor has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 ct gold with a silver setting.

This impressive antique Victorian brooch is supplied with two independent diamond grading report cards.

The brooch is fine quality, set with rubies, sapphires and very well colour matched, very high colour graded old cut diamonds.

The brooch is a very good gauge of gold and is in excellent condition.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of antique jewellery/estate jewelry.
