Description


This fine antique German silver fruit dish has an oval boat shaped form.


The body of this Art Nouveau dish is embellished with impressive embossed and pierced floral and foliate ornamentation to each side, in addition to an applied paralleling moulded border to the rim.


Either end of the body is fitted with an impressive C shaped handle, accented with a bifurcating upper terminal.


The dish is supported by four impressive iconic Art Nouveau organic shaped bracket style feet.


The hallmarks struck to the underside of this impressive dish include:

Silver quality/purity mark: .800 (800/1000)

National mark: Crescent moon and crown

This antique Art Nouveau dish is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in exceptional condition.

The pierced and embossed decoration is very sharp.

The German hallmarks struck to the underside of the dish are all very clear.
