This exceptional antique German silver and glass bon bon dish has been realistically modelled in the form of a horse and carriage.
The body of this impressive dish is embellished with a fine and impressive embossed scroll and leaf ornamentation accented with a door panel and pierced decorated 'windows'.
The shaped upper portion of the carriage is encompassed with an embossed leaf decorated border.
The lower portion of the vessel surmounts four functional spindle style wheels, conjoined via a wirework style frame.
The body of this unusual dish is further ornamented with an impressive cast traditional coachman figure holding two reigns which connect two cast sterling silver galloping horses via their harnesses to the carriage.
The dish is fitted with the original hallmarked cover embellished with further embossed scroll and leaf ornamentation accented with deep buttoning style decoration below an impressive cast coronet style carriage finial.
The dish retains the original glass liner and gilding.
