Description


This exceptional antique German silver goblet has a plain inverted balusted shaped form.


The surface of this hunting goblet is plain and unembellished.


The goblet is supported by three embossed and applied feet modelled in the form of snipe's heads; with the use of these legs/feet, the piece to easily be transfered between people and down a table.


The hallmarks struck to the underside of this impressive vessel include:

Maker's mark: M. H. Wilkens & Söhne

National mark: Crescent moon and crown

Silver quality/purity mark: .800 (800/1000)

Registration number: 206386

This antique goblet is a very good gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The German hallmarks struck to the underside of the goblet are all very clear.
