This exceptional antique Indian colonial silver mug has a campania shaped form to a circular spreading foot.

The lower portion of this fine example of antique silverware is embellished with impressive chased alternating leaf and floral ornamentation on a matte background, segmented with an incurved arched border.

The plain, flared upper portion of the body is ornamented with the contemporary engraved inscription 'Henry Alexander Lamb'.

This Indian mug is fitted with an exceptional cast and applied S scroll handle ornamented with scrolling leaf and fruiting designs to the handpiece.

This exceptional drinking vessel surmounts a circular pedestal, featuring an egg bordered knop.

The circular foot is embellished with a chased decorated egg and dart decorated border accented with a simplified leaf design to the upper portion.

This impressive silver mug retains the original gilt interior; this has worn with age in a sympathetic fashion to an aesthetically pleasing mellow colour.

The cast and chased decoration is very sharp.

The Indian hallmarks struck to the rim of the foot are clear in keeping with age and location.
