This exceptional antique Indian silver teapot has a circular rounded, compressed form.


The body of the teapot is embellished with a chased scene depicting a rural setting with iconic wild, indigenous animals.


The decoration to the body is flanked with simplified leaf decorated borders to the upper and lower portions.


The raised flared shoulders of the teapot are encompassed with an applied moulded border accented with leaf designs.


This Indian silver teapot is fitted with a domed hinged cover, surmounted with the original and impressive cast silver finial realistically modelled in the form of an elephant.


The domed portion of the cover is encompassed with further chased decoration reflecting the aforementioned rural designs.


This antique teapot is fitted with an impressive cast silver C shaped handle with an exceptional chased decorated upper terminal modelled in the form of an elephant's head, with the handpiece reflecting the details of an elephant's trunk/proboscis.


The teapot has an exceptional cast swan necked spout ornamented with an elephant head's and trunk.


The teapot is supported by four bun style feet.
