This exceptional antique Italian 18ct yellow gold snuff box has a rectangular rounded form.

The body of this antique gold snuff box is embellished with exceptional chased scrolling leaf decoration.

Either end of the box features a cast and applied rounded terminal, ornamented with further chased scrolling leaf decoration.

This impressive box is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover incorporating a rounded thumbpiece to the anterior edge.

The upper plateau of the cover and underside of the box is embellished with a continuation of the decoration to the sides of the body and incorporates a central vase design to the centre.

The hallmarks struck to the interior of the cover include:

Maker's mark: EM (untraced)

Gold quality/purity mark: K18 (18 carat, 750/1000

This antique 18ct gold box is an exceptional gauge of gold, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The exterior surface of the box shows little sign of use or wear and the interior has a few minor blemishes.

The chased ornamentation is exceptionally sharp.

The hallmarks to the interior of the cover are very clear.
