This exceptional vintage Italian silver box has a plain rectangular form.

The body of this impressive vintage jewellery box is embellished with cross hatching textured decoration, accented with a broad band of tooled ornamentation to either side.

The side panels of this exceptional box are plain and unembellished.

This vintage silver box is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover ornamented with a continuation of textured and tooled decoration.

The unusual cover is further ornamented with an exceptional collet set cabochon polished tiger's eye quartz* to the centre.

The hallmarks struck to the rim of this vintage silver box include:

Silver quality/purity mark: 800 (800/1000).

Maker's registration: 356 FI (FALLACI ANTONIO, Firenze/Florence)

Signature: Fallaci

* Tigers eye is a member of the quartz family and is categorised as a chatoyant gemstone.
