Description

This fine and impressive vintage brooch has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold.

The brooch has been modelled in the form of a scarecrow, accented with textures replicating the details of the fabric and straw.

The figure's spherical head is ornamented with an impressive cabochon cut 4.73ct lapis lazuli, surmounted with an 18ct yellow gold hat and hair design.

The outstretched arms are embellished with two round faceted cut rubies, totalling 0.42 carats.

The iconic patches incorporated into a scarecrow's attire are represented by cabochon cut turquoises and the buttons are replicated with two eight cut diamonds, all four-claw set.

This impressive brooch features a pair of articulated legs ornamented with two round faceted cut sapphires to the nadir; conjoined to the body with two loop rings to the reverse of the setting.

This vintage gold brooch secures to the reverse of the setting with a hinged pin fastening and clasp.

The reverse of this whimsical brooch features the maker's mark 'Cherny'* and the 18ct gold mark (18k).

This vintage figure brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.

NOTE: * Rudi Cherny emigrated from Germany to Australia in the late 1930s, and in 1948 started a jewellery company with the gem cutter John Altmann. Cherny is known for a series of animal and nature themed gold brooches, displaying a wide array of gemstones.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.
