This stunning, fine and impressive gemstone owl brooch has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold.
The brooch has been modelled in the form of a stylised owl.
The body of the owl is ornamented with a large 33.57ct cabochon cut lapis lazuli.
The eyes are represented by two collet set round cabochon cut tourmalines, with a combined carat weight of 7.72cts.
The head and feet are embellished with sixteen pavé set transitional modern brilliant round cut diamonds.
The 1950s brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp fastening, the pin is struck with the French maker's mark.
The side of the setting is hallmarked twice with the French mark for 18ct gold (eagle's head).
