These impressive antique George II cast silver candlesticks, in sterling standard, have a plain classical English form.

The plain hallmarked cylindrical capitals are encircled with bands of applied and tooled decoration.

The upper portion of the waisted shaped column features a plain panelled quatrefoil shaped knop embellished with four shell designs.

Each column is further ornamented with a plain circular knop lower portion and surmounts a plain circular sunken well.

These decorative columns surmount quatrefoil shaped bases embellished with further shell ornamentation, in a swirl design.

These Georgian cast silver candlesticks do not have a weighted bases.

These antique candle holders are an exceptional gauge of silver as to be expected, excellent quality and in excellent condition in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each base are all very clear; the marks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
