This magnificent antique cast Russian silver ornament has been realistically modelled in the form of an elephant with a curled trunk.


This antique Faberge silver ornament is embellished with details reproducing the fine definition of the elephant's skin and anatomical features.


The hallmarks struck to the posterior surface of the elephant's ear includes:

Maker's mark: К.ФАБЕРЖЕ (K.Faberge/Karl Fabergé)

Silver quality/purity mark: 84 (84 zolotniks)*

City Mark: St George slaying the dragon (Moscow, Russia)**


This magnificent ornament is an exceptional quality and gauge, as expected from a Fabergé piece.


* 84 zolotniki is equivalent to 875/1000 or .875 standard silver.


** The combined silver purity mark and city mark was used between 1882-1899
