Description


This exceptional antique George V 18ct gold vesta case has a plain rectangular rounded form.


The surface of this case is ornamented with impressive engine turned decoration.


The sides of the case are plain and unembellished.


This fine vesta case is fitted with a ring loop attachment to one side and has a hinged cover which incorporates a plain thumbpiece.


There is an integrated serrated panel/match striker to the underside.


The rim of the box bears the retailer’s mark ‘Asprey, London’ in addition to the hallmarks:

Maker’s mark: A&Co Ltd (Asprey & Co Ltd)

Gold quality/purity marks: 18, Crown (18 carat, gold)

Assay mark: Chester, England

Date mark: T (1824)


This vesta case, crafted by the renowned gold and silversmiths Asprey & Co Ltd, is an exceptional gauge for its type.

This antique 18ct gold vesta case is an exceptional gauge of gold, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The engine turned decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the rim are all very clear.
