This exceptional antique military brooch has been crafted in 15ct yellow gold with a silver setting.

This impressive sweetheart brooch is modelled on the regimental badge of the Royal Scots Fusiliers*; a flaming fusil embellished with a thistle.

The thistle applied to the 15ct yellow gold fusil is ornamented with appropriately coloured enamel.

The nine flames emanating from the body are embellished with a total of thirty-nine Old European cut and old Dutch cut diamonds.

This fine example of antique jewellery secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and safety clip fastening.

The military brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.

This brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 15 carat gold.

*Note During the Childers’ reforms of 1881 the regiment did not suffer the indignity of being amalgamated, as it already had two regular battalions. However, it did become the County Regiment of Ayrshire, Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbrightshire, Roxburghshire, Selkirkshire and Wigtownshire in South-West Scotland. This made them a Lowland Regiment and forced them to adopt trousers as opposed to kilts! Numbers were reduced and the regiment became known as the Royal Scots Fusiliers.

This impressive brooch is fine quality, set with very high colour graded old cut diamonds

The brooch is in exceptional, original condition.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of antique jewellery/estate jewelry.
