Description


This exceptional vintage American sterling silver water jug has a plain baluster, helmet shaped form onto a circular spreading foot.


The large body of this impressive jug is plain and unembellished.


This impressive example of vintage silverware is fitted with a plain sterling silver scrolling handle.


The underside of this impressive jug bears the volume marker '4pts', in addition to the American hallmarks.


This impressive jug was crafted by the American silversmiths Black, Starr & Gorham of New York; this maker's mark was registered in 1940 when Black, Starr & Frost merged with the notable Gorham retail store.


Condition


This vintage silver water jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The jug has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full American hallmarks struck to the underside are all very clear.
