This fine antique Austrian silver and enamel cigarette case has a rectangular rounded form.

The subtly convex anterior and posterior surfaces are embellished with fine and impressive red guilloche enamel panels accented with a sunburst motif emanating from one corner.

The rounded sides of the case are plain and unembellished.

This case is fitted with a plain rounded thumbpiece and hallmarked push fit catch, which when released reveals two hinged compartments.

The interior of each compartment retains the original gilding and is fitted with the original retaining straps.

The hallmarks to the compartments of this impressive cigarette case include:

Maker’s mark: G.A.S (Georg Adam Scheid*)

Assay mark: Dianakopf mark - A (Vienna)

Silver quality/purity mark: Dianakopf mark, 900 (.900, 900/1000)

* Georg Adam Scheid is renowned for the high quality enamelling on silverware items.


This antique enamel cigarette case is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The enamel is in perfect condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the interior of each compartment are all very clear.
