This magnificent antique George V Britannia standard* silver spirit kettle has a plain octagonal panelled, rounded form with a waisted upper portion, in the antique Queen Anne style.

The surface of this antique spirit kettle is plain and unembellished.

This antique silver spirit kettle is fitted with a plain domed, panelled push fit hallmarked cover surmounted with the original circular wood and Britannia silver urn style finial.

This fine example of antique teaware is fitted with a hinged opposing scroll decorated handle with a central carved oak wood baluster handpiece.

The kettle detaches from the original hallmarked Britannia silver stand, supported by four impressive opposing scrolling legs terminating with octagonal panelled feet and accented with Britannia silver urn style finials.

The stand incorporates a plain scrolling frame which retains the original octagonal detachable spirit burner.

The spirit kettle stand is fitted with the original chains and hallmarked security pegs.

* Britannia Silver - The Britannia silver standard of 958 (95.84% of fine silver), denoted by the icon of the seated Britannia holding an oval shield, was introduced by William III in 1697. This was to indicate the slightly higher standard of silver from sterling silver standard of 925 (92.5% of fine silver).

This magnificent spirit tea kettle is quite an exceptional gauge of silver for such a piece.

The kettle has been professionally polished.

The interior of the kettle has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the kettle and part hallmarks to the finials of the handle handpiece, interior of the cover, underside of the burner and stand are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of antique silverware.
