This antique Victorian brooch / pendant has been crafted in 15 carat yellow gold.

The oval cameo is collet set in a plain, slightly shaped frame.

The frame is ornamented with a flared chased decorated border embellished with scrolling leaf designs in a repetitive pattern and with a subtle applied rope twist trim.

The subject of the carved cameo takes the form of the 'Three Graces' - according to Greek mythology, the daughters of Zeus: Thalia (youth and beauty), Euphrosyne (mirth), and Aglaia/Aglaea (elegance).

This fine example of antique cameo jewellery is fitted with a hinged pin and clip fastening to the reverse to allow it to be worn as a brooch, in addition to the articulated suspension loop, which allows this versatile piece to be worn as a pendant.

This brooch / pendant has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 15 carat gold.
