Description

This fine antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) egg cup has a bell shaped form to a circular dished base.

The surface of the spoon handle, egg cup and integrated dish are embellished with engraved bamboo designs on a textured matte background.

The decoration to both the spoon and dish incorporates a circular cartouche ornamented with the contemporary engraved initials ‘TFW’.

Both the egg cup and dish are embellished with an applied bamboo effect border to the rim.

The gilded bowl to the spoon shows signs of wear in keeping with age.

The reverse surface of the spoon, interior of the egg cup and underside of the dish are all plain and unembellished.

Condition

This antique CES set is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the dish and reverse of the spoon are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this antique silverware.
