This exceptional antique Indian 900 standard silver koro/incense burner has a circular bulbous shaped form.

The lower compartment of the koro is embellished with an impressive chased leaf pattern accented with convex scrolling designs.

The body is further ornamented with three protruding, large and impressive oriental Asian inspirited dragon designs with scrolling tails and applied clawed limbs.

The upper portion of the body is encircled with pierced scrolling leaf decoration below a band of subdivided single leaf motifs.

This impressive koro retains the two original covers, each encompassed with pierced and chased scrolling leaf designs accented with floral motifs.

The terminating cover is ornamented with plain convex fluted decoration to the upper portion and surmounted with an impressive scrolling coronet style finial.

This antique incense burner is supported by three swept feet ornamented with impressive figural mask designs to the upper portion.

The underside of the body features a chased circular geometric design encompassed with bands of rope twist decoration in addition to simplified masks.

This Indian silver burner has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as .900 standard (900/1000) silver.

NOTE: A koro (香炉, kōro) is a Japanese censer which is a vessel used for burning incense. A koro is traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies and traditionally made using pottery, porcelain and bronze.

This antique incense burner is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The chased decoration is very sharp.

There are no hallmarks as to be expected with such a piece; the date and origin can be determined by the composition and decoration.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Asian silverware.
