This fine antique Victorian sterling silver teapot has a pear shaped panelled form onto a circular spreading foot.

The body of this fine example of Victorian teaware is embellished with eight floral, foliate and scroll chased decorated panels, incorporating two scroll bordered shaped cartouches, one to either side of the teapot.

One cartouche displays a lion’s head erased charged with three roses of the first and the other remains vacant.

This antique teapot is fitted with a domed hinged hallmarked cover which retains the original hallmarked fine and impressive floral and leaf finial.

The teapot is fitted with an impressive shaped handle with a scrolling leaf decorated thumbpiece and stylised leaf upper sockets and scroll decorated lower terminal.

The impressive swan necked spout is ornamented with a chased leaf and floral designs.

Date: 1856

This antique Irish teapot is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The chased decoration to this piece is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside and part hallmarks struck to the cover and finial are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware.
