This fine antique William IV Irish sterling silver teapot has a circular rounded compressed form.

The surface of this teapot is embellished with fine and impressive chased scrolling leaf and floral spray decoration on a matt background, incorporating a scroll bordered shaped vacant cartouche to either side.

The flared, tapering shoulders of the teapot are ornamented with a gadroon decorated border to the rim.

This teapot is fitted with a hallmarked flush hinged cover embellished with further chased floral and leaf designs to the central domed portion.

The cover retains the original, fine and impressive hallmarked bud and foliate shaped finial, securing to the interior with a wing nut.

The fine and impressive C scroll handle is ornamented with chased decorated floral and leaf designs to the handpiece and features an impressive leaf decorated thumbpiece.

The underside of the fine and impressive swan necked spout is ornamented with a scroll bordered chased floral design accented with foliate details in addition to scale motifs and leaf textures to the background.

This teapot is supported on four impressive Regency style feet embellished with chased leaf and paw decoration.

This exceptional example of William IV teaware was crafted by the renowned Irish silversmith William Nolan.

Date: 1825


This antique Irish silver teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The chased decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the teapot and part hallmarks to the finial are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Irish silverware.
