These magnificent antique Edwardian sterling silver bowls have an oval shaped rounded form.

The body of each bowl is embellished with exceptional chased suspended swag decoration conjoining four rural setting illustrated panels and two vacant oval cartouches.

The panels display impressive chased scenes depicting a female figure lounging against a cornucopia with a perched bird on her outstretched arm, a reaper cutting a crop of wheat with a sickle, a male figure sitting on terrain adjusting his curled toe shoe and a shepherd sat feeding a sheep with a crook in one hand.

The lower portion of the body of each bowl is ornamented with ribbed fluted decoration and large scalloped panels of scale motif diaper pattern paralleling the shape of the swags.

The shaped rim of the bowl is encircled with a fine and impressive applied scrolling border accented with shell motifs and suspended bifurcating and trifurcating leaf designs in addition to a matt scalloped paralleling border in junction with the body.

These magnificent bowls are each fitted with two stunning sterling silver handles modelled in the form of chased decorated winged half-figures with impressive leaf decorated bifurcating scrolling terminals.

Each bowl is supported by four fine and impressive claw feet with stunning chased decorated winged hybrid dragon sockets.

These magnificent bowls, crafted by the renowned London silversmith Charles Stuart Harris, are in exceptional condition and are the finest examples of their type you could hope to acquire.
