These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver platters have a plain oval form.

The raised border of each Victorian platter is embellished to either end with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest displaying out of a ducal coronet a goat's head bearded*.

Each platter is encompassed with an impressive applied gadroon decorated border to the rim.

The sunken oval well of each platter is plain and unembellished.

The underside of each platter features the full hallmarks to the plateaued border; one is struck with the corresponding four main hallmarks, excluding the duty mark.

* This crest pertains to the Bagot family

These antique silver platters are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

There is light surface wear to the wells in keeping with the age, as to be expected with such pieces.

The applied decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved crests are crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each platter are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of Victorian silverware.
