The upper and lower incurves of each panel are accented with bright cut engraved bordered trefoil motifs.

The panels incorporate two cartouches, displaying the bright cut engraved inscription ‘Presented to John Borthwick by Mr JJ MacMillan and Col. & Miss Fox, Glencrosh, in deep appreciation at 46 years devoted service at Manquhill, 1905-1951’ to one side and the other remains vacant.
