This fine antique Scottish sterling silver fish slice/server has an impressive Fiddle pattern handle.

The handle is embellished with a fine and impressive contemporary bright cut engraved crest displaying a demi-lion below the motto ‘Sember Vigilans’ - always vigilant/watchful*.

The shaped blade is embellished with impressive pin struck decorated undulating borders accented with a band of bright cut engraved leaf ornamentation paralleling the incurved edge.

The centre of the blade is embellished with a fine and impressive pierced and pin struck decorated two-tier scalloped design encompassing an engraved stylised salmon/fish motif.

The reverse surface of this impressive example of Scottish silverware is plain and unembellished.

This impressive silver fish slice was crafted by the provincial Aberdeen silversmith William Jamieson.

* This crest pertains to the Wilson Clan, which is widely spread throughout Scotland.

This antique fish slice/server is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved and pin struck decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of the handle terminal are all very clear.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
