This fine vintage Elizabeth II English steel cigar cutter is mounted to either side with hallmarked sterling silver panels, each embellished impressive engine turned decoration.

This cigar cutter is fitted with a hinged incision cut / V cut mechanism.

The terminal of the handle is fitted with a plain rounded tool with a functional grove used for opening and removing nails from cigar boxes; this tool is more commonly found separate from the cutter.

This vintage cigar cutter is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The cutter has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The engine turned decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the sterling silver panels, and ‘foreign’* hallmark to the cutter arm are all very clear; the first portion of the maker's mark is rubbed.

*NOTE: Donatus of Solingen, Gemany made this style of cutter in many forms eg brass, wood and chrome.
