This exceptional antique George II sterling silver beer jug has a plain baluster form onto a circular spreading foot, in the classic English Georgian style.

The body of this impressive Georgian beer jug is plain and unembellished.

This impressive example of antique silverware is fitted with an S scroll handle ornamented with a leaf decorated thumbpiece and scrolling lower terminal.

The sparrow beak spout of this antique silver jug is embellished with a vase-shaped moulding with a drop form to the nadir.

The surface of the jug has a fine colour and patination*.

By virtue of its size and style, this versatile jug could be used as a water jug.

* Patination or Patina is a subtle colouration or tarnish which forms on the surface of some metals, produced by oxidation or other chemical processes. A good patina proffers an aesthetically pleasing look.
