The pieces of this exceptional and comprehensive antique Edwardian sterling silver straight* flatware service for twelve persons have been crafted in the Old English shape.

This Sheffield silver cutlery set consists of 107 pieces:

Pair of sauce ladles
Pair of salad servers
Pair of butter knives
Pair of pickle forks

Nut cracker

This impressive service benefits from an extensive range of serving pieces.

The solid silver nutcracker indicates the high quality of the service; often nutcrackers would feature a silver handle and an electroplated silver or steel hinged claw portion, however this piece is hallmarked sterling silver.

The fundamental pieces of this silver cutlery set, including the impressive serving pieces and knives**, have been crafted by the Sheffield silversmith Joseph Ridge of John Round & Son Ltd in 1907.

This antique flatware service is supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduce tarnishing.

* "Straight" means all the pieces are made by the same maker in the same year.

** The stainless steel blades of the original knives have been replaced.

What is sterling silver?

Date: 1907

This antique Sheffield silver cutlery service is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each piece are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine and impressive canteen.
