Description


This fine antique Victorian sterling silver christening mug has a plain baluster shaped form onto a circular spreading foot.


The surface of this antique silver mug is plain and unembellished.


The flared rim and foot are encircled with bands of applied bead decoration.


The mug is fitted with an impressive sterling silver S scroll handle incorporating a plain scrolling thumbpiece in addition to impressive scrolling terminals.


This impressive Victorian silver mug was crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmith Edward & John Barnard.


Date: 1857

Condition


This antique silver mug is a very good gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this Barnard silver mug.
