Description


This fine antique George V English sterling silver christening/sugar bowl has a circular rounded form onto circular stepped spreading foot.


The surface of this Arts and Crafts style bowl has a planished finish.


The upper portion of the bowl is encircled with an engraved and pin struck border depicting alternating floral motifs and circular designs below bands of tooled decoration.


The rim of the body is ornamented with an applied moulded border.


This impressive bowl was crafted by the collectable Arts and Crafts makers, Guild of Handicraft*.


* Guild of Handicraft is also known as Hart Gold & Silversmiths.


Date: 1928

Condition


This antique bowl is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The engraved, pin struck and tooled decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of antique silverware.
