This antique George V sterling silver epergne has a plain tapering form with a flared rim onto a spreading circular domed base.

The surface of the epergne is plain and unembellished apart from a plain embossed band encircling the body .

The rim and foot of this fine epergne are ornamented with gadroon decoration.

Each of the three original flutes is ornamented with a plain embossed convex band and a gadroon decorated rim and an urn shaped terminal.

This impressive George V centrepiece is fitted with three plain scrolling sterling silver arms terminating with a plain cylindrical receiver.

The original removable hallmarked flutes sit neatly in the receivers.

Date: 1922


This antique epergne is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The epergne has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks to the surface of the central vase are very clear apart from the first portion of the maker’s mark which is rubbed.

Part hallmarks to the supporting flutes are rubbed but legible.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique George V silverware.
