Description
This fine vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver five piece tea and coffee service / set consists of a coffee pot, teapot, cream jug, sugar bowl, and tray.
Each piece of this fine Louis style set has a baluster shaped form onto four shaped feet.
The body of each large piece is embellished with chased scroll, floral and leaf decoration incorporating a scroll bordered vacant shaped cartouche to each side.
Both the coffee pot and teapot are fitted with domed hinged hallmarked covers encircled with a shaped, applied stylised leaf decorated border.
The coffee pot and teapot covers retain the original fine and impressive hallmarked sterling silver finials realistically modelled in the form of eagles.
The teapot and coffee pot are both fitted impressive swan necked spouts, each with impressive mask ornamentation to the underside.
Each piece is fitted with impressive opposing scroll handles ornamented with a large, chased decorated single leaf design which is incorporated into the shaped thumbpiece.
The sockets to each handle are embellished with further impressive leaf decoration.
The four shaped feet which support each piece of this impressive teaware service are embellished with chased leaf decoration.
The pieces of this fine tea and coffee service are presented on a fine matching tray.
The tea tray has a plain rectangular form with rounded corners and is fitted with two impressive rounded handles.
Each handle is ornamented with gadroon style decoration with leaf decorated sockets and a scroll and leaf motif to the centre of each handle.
The raised border is embellished with a band of gadroon decoration to the rim accented with a scrolling leaf motif to each corner.
This exceptional example of vintage silverware was crafted by Richard Woodman Burbridge of Harrods Ltd, and retailed by the world famous London vendor ‘Harrods’.
The pieces of this impressive tea service were crafted in the Victorian Louis style and are the finest gauge of silver you could hope to find.
