This exceptional antique George VI sterling silver jewellery casket has a rectangular form, modelled in the style of a freedom casket.

The surface of the box is embellished with impressive panels of chased scrolling leaf and floral decoration, on a matt background.

The centre of each side of the casket features a circular shaped chased decorated tied wreath design; this ornamentation forms a vacant cartouche to three sides, and encompasses an impressive enamel panel to the anterior surface.

The enamel panel depicts an impressive coat of arms, complete with two Bugle Horn gorged supporters and a finch crest, in addition to the motto ‘Regnant Qui Serviunt’ - They Rule Who Serve*.

This jewellery casket is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover with an impressive applied egg decorated border to the rim.

The cover embellished with four chased large single leaf designs receding from each corner, terminating at an oval domed section.

The convex domed portion of the cover is ornamented with chased simplified floral and leaf festoon decorations and surmounted by a fine and impressive chased decorated finial modelled in the form of a tied wreath with two bifurcating swept festoon terminals.

The interior of this fine jewellery casket is fitted with a bespoke navy blue velvet fitment, with a well incorporating a lift out compartment and bordered by an integrated ring holder to either side.

This solid silver casket is supported by a swept base ornamented with further chased leaf decoration and accented to the anterior and posterior sides with a rosette style floral design.

Each corner of the base features a triangular bracket style foot accented with an impressive single leaf design to the socket.

This antique jewellery casket is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The enamel panel is in perfect condition.

The chased decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the swept base and part hallmarks to the surface of the cover are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
