These exceptional antique George V sterling silver Sabbath candlesticks have a baluster shaped form onto a domed square, incurved shaped base.

The circular rounded capitals retain the original detachable push fit sconces, with applied moulded borders to the rims.

The capitals are supported by circular, baluster shaped columns featuring embossed leaf decoration to the knops.

Both candlesticks have filled bases, as to be expected and are fitted with green baize to the underside.

These candlesticks were crafted by the Judaica silversmith Morris Salkind in London, England.

Date: 1929

These antique sterling silver candlesticks are a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The embossed decoration to each candlestick is very sharp.

There are some natural fire marks to the candlesticks, in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each base and the sleeve of each sconce are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these impressive examples of antique silverware.

Height 25.3cm/10"

Width of base 9.2cm/3.6"

An accurate weight for silver content cannot be provided as these candlesticks have weighted bases.
