This exceptional antique George III sterling silver salver has a plain circular form.

The surface of the salver is plain and embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved coat of arms* depicting quarterly the first and fourth a lion rampant reguardant, the second and third quarters three boar's heads couped sable.

This impressive coat of arms is surmounted with a bright cut engraved crest displaying out of a ducal coronet a dragon's head.

The raised rounded border is encircled with impressive applied gadroon decoration.

This Georgian silver salver is supported by three impressive bracket style feet ornamented with thread decorated borders.

This exceptional salver was crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmiths Peter & Ann Bateman.

* This coat of arms pertains to the Earl Cadogan; the lion rampant reguardant represents the Cadogan family.

Date: 1797


This antique silver salver is a exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.


The applied decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved coat of arms is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the salver are very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
