Description


This exceptional antique William IV sterling silver snuffer tray has a plain rectangular form with rounded corners.


The surface of this fine example of antique silverware is plain and embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a deer's head erased and collared.


The raised rounded border is subtly elevated to either end and ornamented with a fine and impressive embossed leaf and simplictic floral decorated border to the rim.


This impressive snuffer/pen tray was crafted by the renowned and collectable silversmiths Edward, Edward junior, John & William Barnard.


Date: 1832

Condition


This antique snuffer tray is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The embossed decoration is sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the surface are all very clear.


Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
