Description


This fine antique George III sterling silver table bell has a plain bell shaped form.


The surface of this antique silver bell is embellished with a contemporary engraved crest depicting out of a coronet a lion’s head.


The shoulders and bead line of the bell are encircled with bands of tooled decoration.


The table bell retains the original turned painted wood handle fitted to a sterling silver cylindrical socket ornamented with further tooled decoration.


This impressive Georgian table bell is fitted with the original clapper featuring tooled decoration in addition to a bead ornamentation to the terminal.

Condition


This antique silver bell is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the bell all show signs of wear; the maker’s mark is worn and illegible, the upper portion of the date mark, town mark and lion passant remain legible.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
