Description


This fine antique George III sterling silver table bell has a plain bell shaped form.


The head, shoulders and bead line of the bell are encircled with bands of tooled decoration.


The bell retains the original turned painted pear wood handle fitted to a sterling silver cylindrical socket ornamented with further tooled decoration.


This impressive table bell is fitted with the original hallmarked clapper.


This rare item of antique silverware was crafted by the renowned London silversmith Henry Chawner.


Date: 1792

Condition


This antique table bell is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the interior of the bell and lion passant to the clapper, as to be expected, are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
