Description


This fine antique Victorian sterling silver tea caddy has a plain oval form.


The surface of this antique tea caddy is plain and encircled with embossed fluted decoration to the lower portion.


The box is fitted with a push fit hallmarked cover embellished with an embossed floral fluted design to the upper plateau.


The underside of the caddy features the retailer's mark 'Z. Barraclough & Sons, Leeds' in addition to the full hallmarks.


This antique box is fitted to the original and impressive hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.


The interior of the presentation box bears the retailer's mark ‘Z. Barraclough & Sons, Watchmakers and Jewellers, 54 Briggate, Leeds.’ beneath a coronet.


Date: 1892

Condition


This antique tea caddy is a very good gauge of silver, very good quality and in excellent condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the caddy and to the surface of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
