This fine vintage sterling silver tea strainer has been crafted in the Glamis pattern.

The bowl of the tea strainer is embellished with pierced decorated quatrefoil designs accented with floral motifs and scrolling stems.

This tea strainer is fitted with two plain scrolling rests.

The Glamis pattern handle is plain and embellished with an Art Deco style ribbed lobed motif to the terminal; this pattern is a private design produced by Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd.

The strainer is supported by a plain circular rounded stand/bowl with an applied moulded border to the upper rim.

These impressive examples of vintage silverware were made by the renowned London silversmiths Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd in 1966; these items will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system the strainer is struck with the date letter ‘X’ and the stand bears ‘Y’.

Date: 1966

This sterling silver tea strainer is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of the strainer handle and the surface of the stand are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this vintage silverware.
