This fine antique sterling silver teapot has a circular rounded bulbous form onto a collet foot.

The body of this Victorian silver teapot is embellished with fine and impressive bright cut engraved floral and scrolling motif designs incorporating a bordered oval cartouche to each side.

The cartouche to one side is ornamented with a bright cut engraved crest* of a phoenix in flames murally gorged; the cartouche to the opposing side remains vacant.

The upper portion of the body and upper rim are encircled with a bright cut engraved band of stylised egg and tongue decoration.

The flush hinged hallmarked cover is ornamented with further bright cut engraved scroll and stylised floral and leaf motifs; the flush hinge is a sign of quality in this piece.

The cover retains the original detachable fine and impressive sterling silver flame style finial, secured to the interior with a wing nut.

This fine Victorian teapot is fitted with the original hallmarked rounded handle with plain thumbpiece.

This antique teapot has an impressive panelled swan necked spout with a shaped socket.

The spout is ornamented with a bright cut engraved floral and leaf branch motif to either side and a chased scrolling design to the upper surface of the lip.

* This crest pertains to the family Fenwick.

This Victorian silver teapot is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside and part hallmarks to the cover, handle and finial of the teapot are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Victorian teaware.
