Description


This fine antique Victorian sterling silver teapot has a compressed melon shaped form onto four bracket style feet.


The shaped, rounded body of the teapot is plain and unembellished.


This Victorian sterling teapot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged domed panelled cover surmounted with the original exceptional hallmarked sterling silver floral and foliate finial, securing to the interior with a wing nut.


The impressive hallmarked C scroll handle is ornamented with a large single leaf design which is incorporated into the shaped thumbpiece.


The upper and lower sockets are embellished with impressive chased leaf ornamentation.


The impressive swan necked spout is ornamented with further layered leaf designs incorporating textured chased decoration to the shaped sockets and leaf designs to the lip.


The teapot is supported by four fine and impressive chased and pierced scrolling leaf decorated bracket style feet.


This impressive antique teapot was crafted by the collectable and renowned London silversmiths Edward, Edward junior, John & William Barnard.

Condition


This antique sterling teapot is an excellent gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the teapot and part hallmarks to the finial and interior of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware.
