This fine antique William IV sterling silver teapot has a compressed pumpkin style form onto an octofoil shaped collet style foot.

The panelled body of the teapot is embellished with fine and impressive engraved Akroter style ornamentation to the upper portion amidst a subtly matt background.

One side of the body is ornamented with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting an arm embowed in armour, the hand grasping a club.

This antique teapot is fitted with a hallmarked domed hinged cover featuring further engraved ornamentation to each incurve, reflecting that of the design to the body.

The cover retains the original panelled and engraved sterling silver button style finial, securing to the interior with a screw fitting.

This teapot is fitted with the original impressive C shaped handle featuring a leaf decorated thumbpiece and embellished with engraved Akroter motifs.

This fine antique teapot is fitted with an impressive swan necked spout ornamented with applied and chased subtly concave fluted decoration accented to each incurve with a matt background to the shaped socket and terminating with a ribbed collar and leaf motif to the upper portion.

The spout is further embellished with an applied simplified leaf design to the upper portion of the lip.

The underside of the teapot bears the retailer’s mark ‘Storr & Mortimer’.

This impressive antique teapot was crafted by the renowned and collectable silversmith Paul Storr.

This antique teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The applied and chased decoration is very sharp and the engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the teapot and part hallmarks to the handle and interior of the cover are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique teaware.
