This exceptional antique George V sterling silver toast rack has a rectangular rounded form, modelled in the form of a classic English tea tray.

The toast rack has five compartments divided by a hallmarked, plain rounded frame.

The raised rounded border of the solid silver hallmarked base is encompassed with applied gadroon decoration to the rim.

Either end of this impressive antique silver toast rack is fitted with a rounded handle ornamented with further gadroon decoration.

The rack is supported by four hallmarked screw fit bun feet; detaching these feet allow access to the compartmentalised frame, for ease of cleaning.

This antique toast rack is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

This impressive example of antique silverware has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base and part hallmarks to the frame, in addition to lion passant to each bun foot, are all very clear.
