This exceptional Victorian sterling silver tea tray has an oval form.

The surface of this fine example of antique silverware is embellished with a band of bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decoration accented with interlacing stylised shaped motifs and alternating Arabesque designs.

The decoration to the surface of the tray incorporates a vacant oval cartouche to the centre.

The swept rim of the tray is encompassed with impressive applied bead decoration.

This fine antique tray is fitted with shaped twin handles, each featuring an oval handpiece and embellished with further applied bead decoration.

This fine Victorian tea tray is supported by four applied rounded bun style feet.

The underside of the tray bears the retailer's mark 'Waterhouse Dublin' in addition to the full hallmarks.

The tray is an exceptional example of its type.

Date: 1877


This antique Victorian tea tray is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the tray are all very clear.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of fine example of Victorian silverware.
