Description


This exceptional antique George IV sterling silver tray has a plain oval form.


The surface of the tray is plain and unembellished.


The raised border of the tray is encircled with fine and impressive applied gadroon decoration to the rim.


This fine example of antique silverware is fitted with a pair of rounded handles ornamented with a gadroon decoration and impressive leaf decorated terminals.


The tray is supported by four impressive bracket style feet embellished with further gadroon and volute scroll ornamentation.

This antique tray is a very good gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The applied decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the tray are all very clear.
