This fine antique Victorian horn handled, sterling silver fork has three plain rounded tines.

The hallmarked sterling silver mount of the horn handle is encircled with bands of chased stylised palmette decoration accented with bead ornamentation to each knop.

The handle is further embellished with a lobed floral motif to the terminal with a central bead motif finial.

This impressive silver fork is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.

The interior of the box bears the retailer’s mark ‘William Angus, Jeweller and Silversmith, 27 & 29. Lord Street, Liverpool’.

Date: 1889

This antique presentation fork is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The box is in presentation condition, in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the tines are all very clear.

The part hallmarks struck to the handle mount and ferrule, as expected, show signs of wear but remain legible.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware.
